What a day it was!.....
Meet Tae... she guided us on our day’s journey to Mahachai
Interesting story... Tae, a freelance tour guide, is engaged to be married in late January. The irony here is, although she’s never been to the states, the person she is marrying is a childhood friend with whom she reacquainted and.... she is moving to his home in Salt Lake City!!! He was born in Thailand and his family moved to Utah when he was young. He completed his education in Utah, including his engineering degree from the University of Utah.
The world seems to become smaller and smaller as we have the opportunity to travel.
With several modes of transportation ahead, we are getting on a train that will take us to the Mahachai seafood markets.
Oh good, there’s air conditioning on the ceilings😜.
We’re headed to Mahachai, where we exited the train in the middle of the market that spreads out within arm's reach of the tracks. It's one of Thailand’s biggest traditional fresh seafood markets.
Now that’s a lot of fish😳
Then, onto the ferry with a few scooters.
And a rickshaw...
To another train.
The train brought us to Mae Klong. Along the way, we saw many salt farms.
The Meeklong Railway rolling into the Rom Hub umbrella market which sits on the train tracks

About four times per day as the train approaches, vendors pull their awnings and display tables back just as the train rumbles into the station. The vendors know exactly how high they can stack their goods next to the track so that the edge of the train passes through without touching them. As soon as the train departs, they display their goods on the tracks again.
Our guide took us to a front row seat (actually back row seat) and as the train passed, we saw the umbrellas being put back out to cover the tracks and foods being placed at the tracks for display.
After getting off of the train, we walked by the vendors on the train tracks which were very narrow walkways.
This isn’t our video but it’s exactly what we saw from the train 🚂 https://youtu.be/yjm7cyGRLgE
And finally, back to Bangkok by passenger van. 😄
